Nicky is a Melbourne-based writer, editor and content strategist who has a deep affinity with the written word. Her diverse background has seen her work in the corporate, small business, and government sectors across a range of industries. Consequently, Nicky has the ability to interrogate ideas from varied perspectives, and find the best approach to meet her clients’ aim of transmitting clear messages to their intended audiences.

In 2016, Nicky graduated from RMIT’s Professional Writing and Editing Associate Degree with exemplary results and was invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society. With two children and a cantankerous cat in her charge, Nicky chose the flexibility of freelance writing and editing over a publishing house or corporate role.

Driven by communication and connection, Nicky marvels that she spends each day doing such fulfilling work. She brings that joy and excitement to every project. Nicky loves being the conduit between ideas and understanding; she considers it an honour to be entrusted with guiding words and ideas from unfulfilled concept to readers’ clear comprehension.

Being a writer as well as an editor gives Nicky unique insight into how it feels to hand your words over for editing. She is currently working on a novel of literary fiction which has thus far been selected to have an excerpt read at the Emerging Writers Festival, was shortlisted for a Varuna Residency, and in 2018 earned her a place in the inaugural digital stream of the ACT Writers Centre HARDCOPY program.

Nicky is a member of Writers Victoria, the Institute of Professional Editors, Editors Victoria, and the Golden Key International Honour Society. She acknowledges the Traditional Owners of country, the elders past, present and emerging throughout Australia, and offers them and their cultures her deepest respect. Nicky is an LGBTIQ+ ally, an advocate for access and inclusion for people with disability, and has a Certificate II in Auslan and Deaf Studies.
